THE MR. MATT / A "BASSIC" APPROACH, ABA II and ABA DELUXE story (in the words of Mr. Matt) ......A "Bassic" Approach is a 2 piece project that I started on solo 6 string bass back in the mid 90's with Analiese Lind on vocals. There were a few gigs played around town to great response, but the project didn't last long due to other commitments so it was put to rest........UNTIL 2008, when I decided to bring the project back to life. In stepped good friend Stacy Wilson. I was performing in a band with her at the time and decided to ask her if she'd like to sing in the NEW version of A "Bassic" Approach and she said... "sure thing"! Right then and there I decided to get ABA "back on the road". Stacy & I performed quite a few rockin' shows until late 2011 when we decided to take a break. Nikki Marie entered the picture in mid-2012 and we've performed many a show since then. The story continues as I have a 2ND ABA version...A couple years later, around 2014, I started A "Bassic" Approach II featuring a male vocalist named Charles Valentino. After going strong with both ABA and ABA II, I decided to start a 3RD ABA version called A "Bassic" Approach Deluxe which features both of my fantastic singers Nikki and Charles! The name "Bassic" in - A "Bassic" Approach - is kind of a play on words. Instead of an acoustic guitar and  vocalist(s), both Nikkis' and Charles' vocals are accompanied by me and my 6 string Bass......a kind of unique ("Bass"ic) approach to a 2 or 3 piece musical act. Playing tunes from artists such as Heart, Eva Cassidy, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Lisa Loeb, Simon & Garfunkel and quite a few others, our versatility and unique style will entertain from beginning to end. Nikki also performs in her full band "Radio City" all over Central Ohio (and beyond) and Charles is currently lead vocalist for the band Players Club and had previously sung for great local bands Days Gone By and Soul Satyr Horns Band. I myself have played in over 1800 bands (well, it seems this way) and so I'm an OLD but experienced veteran of the Columbus Music Scene. A "Bassic" Approach (aka - ABA, ABA II, ABA Deluxe) is a must see fun/talented act. You can catch us live all over Central Ohio. You'll be glad you did!! ............
